TECO hosts 2024 Fire Brigade Competition

As part of TECO Industrial Park’s Fire Prevention Month celebration, a Fire Brigade Competition was held last March 26, 2024, inside TECO Industrial Park. The event was participated by 16 teams represented by 13 TECO locator companies.

The competition kicked off with a motorcade featuring the different teams and participants. The Opening Ceremony was led by Mabalacat's New Fire Senior Inspector, Joshua Ayson, who delivered a message to the attendees. Also present at the opening ceremony were Anni Espiritu from Goto Denshi Mfg Phils, Inc., SFO3 Isagani Santos, FO1 Aldrin Mangalabuan, and SFO1 Joel Soriano.

The competition was divided into three segments: the Fire Extinguisher Event, Rescue & Transfer Relay, and Busted Hose & Up the Ladder Event. Fifth Discipline Packaging Paper Corporation got the first place in the Fire Extinguisher event, while FSP International Corporation secured the top spot in the Busted Hose & Up the Ladder event. MultiPly Paper Ventures Inc. (MPPVI) emerged winners in the Rescue and Transfer Relay category and was crowned the overall champions of the competition. MPPVI's back-to-back win made them the overall champions for two consecutive years.

The awarding ceremony was graced by Ichiro Yuske and Josh Jacala from Red Cross Pampanga, PEZA Zone Manager Mr. Allan Datahan, and TECO’s Head of External Affairs, Engr. Rox Pena.

In accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A, the month of March was declared as Fire Prevention Month due to the alarming rise in fire incidents throughout the country during this season.

As an industrial park developer and operator, TECO understands the critical importance for businesses within the park to remain vigilant against potential fire hazards. This is why, for the third consecutive time, TECO has organized a Fire Brigade Competition to promote and instill fire prevention measures among its locators.

Thai firm builds P2-B fiber cement board factory in Pampanga

Shera, a leading producer of innovative fiber-cement products in ASEAN, is investing P2 billion for a fiber cement board manufacturing operation in the country, making the Philippines its first production hub outside of Thailand. 

Thunnop Jumpasri, president and country head for Philippines and Malaysia of Shera Public Company Ltd., announced their investments as they formally introduced their operation at the opening of the Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition (WORLDBEX) on Thursday, March 14, at the World Trade Center. 

Jumpasri said the expansion in the Philippines has been driven by the strong  growth in the local construction sector, which he said is the fastest growing among ASEAN countries. 

Red Cross Conducts First Aid, Basic Life Support Training to TECO Locators

The Philippine Red Cross recently held a four-day training session on Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support to the employees of TECO Industrial Park locators from February 13 to 16.

The comprehensive course covered first aid techniques, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and use of automated external defibrillators (AED). The goal of the training was to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to administer first aid and basic life support in both workplace and everyday emergency situations.

A total of 33 employees from various companies within TECO Industrial Park, including Fibre Sorting Inc., Anda Power Corporation, True North Manufacturing Services Corporation, Envirocycling Fiber Inc., Fifth Discipline Packaging Paper Corporation, Philko Silicate Corp., MultiPly Paper Ventures Inc., Solenergy, and TECO, participated and completed the program.

Proper knowledge and first aid training of employees will enable them to assist individuals in need during emergencies or accidents at work. Having certified first aiders among the staff, who have undergone training provided by the Red Cross, can help reduce casualties and injuries in critical situations.

TECO Industrial Park, as an industrial park operator, remains committed to fostering a safe and healthy environment for its locators and employees. By organizing events such as the Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support program, TECO aims to promote workplace safety and well-being among its community members.

TECO, Red Cross Hold Successful Blood Donation Drive

Red Cross blood donation drive inside TECO Industrial Park

TECO Industrial Park and the Philippine Red Cross recently organized a Mobile Blood Donation activity on January 26, 2024. The event took place at Bahay Kubo, Tipco Compound, TECO Industrial Park, as part of TECO's comprehensive Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Programs.

TECO employees and locators actively participated in the community mobile donation drive, resulting in the collection of 70 bags of blood of different types from various donors.

The collected blood from the activity was handed over to Red Cross blood bank ensuring its safekeeping and availability for future use.

The plant is rising soon at Tipco Estates Corporation (TECO) Industrial Park, Ninoy Aquino Highway Brgy. Bundagul, Mabalacat City, Pampanga. The contract signing between SHERA Philippines Director Ongek Taechamahaphant and TECO President Jose E. Reyes took place on April 4, 2023, in Makati City.

Pasay City – Robustly attracting more foreign investors and achieving investment growth target this 2023, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) welcomed Taiwanese investors last March 06 Monday.

In coordination with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Taipei, Taiwan, under Director for Commercial Affairs Anthony B. Rivera and Investment Officer Terry Lin, PEZA recently hosted an investment briefing at PEZA Head Office to eight (8) manufacturing and two (2) logistic Taiwanese companies as part of their six-day inbound mission from Taiwan to the Philippines.
